HELLO! While my rules may seem a little lengthy, it’s VERY important that you read them ! So please bear with me as I go through everything on here. If you really don’t want to read them all, I’ve bolded the things that are the most important.

To start with, you can either call me Monster or Benjamin, and ( occasionally ) Anna if you’re close to me. I’m 19 years old, live in MN, and am a full time college freshman. I’m a very approachable person 75% of the time– however when aggravated or upset, I can become blunt and my thoughts become vaguely irrational if I get too upset. I apologize beforehand, but it’s not something I can control. 

As I mentioned, I am a full time college student. My ability to be active on here might be hindered by that occasionally, and I apologize if that happens, but my education comes first with the amount of money I’m paying for it.

I love IM-ing and prefer that people use it when they want to talk to me ooc ( as long as you’re a mutual ). If we aren’t mutuals, please continue to use the ask feature. I don’t really give out my skype until we’re friends, so please, utilize the IM feature until that happens.

I ONLY roleplay with mutuals I will NOT roleplay with nonmutuals. If you send me an ask to interact and we're not, it's OBVIOUS to me you did not read my rules, and I will softblock you and unsoftblock you so you are NO LONGER following me.

I do not follow multimuse blogs, personals, or ‘genderbends’. I’ve had bad experiences with all 3– however IF I follow first, you’re exempt from this rule. But, to elaborate, I’ve had bad experiences with multimuse blogs and 99 percent of ‘genderbent’ character blogs have been extremely transphobic except for a select few. 

Most often, I’ll look at your writing, your character bio, and then decide if I want to follow back. I try to be indifferent to your theme, icons, or any other type of ‘aesthetic’ that we tend to be influenced by. HOWEVER— I am only human.

If you rp Kylo Ren, I ask that you please don’t follow me first. Bad experiences in swrp and just in general have made him a character that makes me very uncomfortable and I’d prefer not to see him on my dash. If I follow you first, please ignore this.

If I follow first and someone does not follow back within a week or more, I will unfollow. I do not want to follow people who are uninterested in my blog, and I hope that is understandable. If someone unfollows ME and they’re a mutual, I’ll unfollow back. I won’t ask why, I won’t approach you, it’s your business not mine. I respect your need to keep your dash a safe place.

This being said, if ANY TIME I feel uncomfortable with you, your blog, or ANYTHING to do with your account, and we also happen to be mutuals, I will softblock you and then UNsoftblock you so we’re no longer mutuals. 

With duplicates, I’m fine with you following me and I will usually follow back, but please do not expect me to be crawling all over your blog to be friends. That sounds very harsh, but self consciousness is something i’ve always struggled with, and duplicates in the past with other canon muses have not been conductive to that. 

roleplays/selectiveness

I AM A SELECTIVE BLOG. I’m going to emphasize this. for the millionth time. I DO NOT roleplay with blogs I’m not mutuals with. I will, talk with you OOC, discuss theories and characters, but I DO NOT roleplay with nonmutuals. This is to keep me relatively happy and mentally healthy on here. 

THIS MEANS that if you aren’t a mutual and you send me IC asks, like my starter calls, or reply to my open starters, I AM GOING TO IGNORE YOU and as previously stated, I will most likely SOFTBLOCK and UNSOFTBLOCK you. It is RIDICULOUSLY easy to check if you are mutuals with someone. UTILIZE THAT ABILITY. You go into your 'followers' section of your blog, type in my url, and it will tell you.

I reserve the right to drop threads if I have to. There’s numerous reasons why I might, but the biggest is that I suffer from TERRIBLE anxiety, and if a thread if making me anxious, I DO NOT want to continue it.

CURRENTLY, I am not looking for exclusives for ANY character, but mains are something I’m willing to discuss.

I think in general, people on tumblr need to understand that roleplaying is for FUN. if you want to use EXCESSIVE CAPITALS or bold everything, use pretty icons and themes, even purple prose, GO AHEAD ! its your blog, its your character, and you’re free to write how you want. not everything is about being a great writer! whats really important is having fun !

I ask that you please tag nsfw with something easy to filter. i really dont enjoy seeing nsfw on my dash and i’d like to avoid seeing it as much as possible. If you don’t I’ll unfollow.

i am physically unable to ask artists if i can use their art. i tried, i did, but my anxiety just. doesn’t allow it. it makes me panic to the point where i could suffer from a panic attack and i really want to avoid that

>one i am horrendously white. which means that i don’t have a full understanding of what it is like to be egyptian or arab or black or any ethnicity. i have what is a general idea and a general feel, but there are going to be inaccuracies, gaps, etc. i personally believe she had a very nuclear childhood with a lot of influences from other cultures, which is my main explanation as to why she might act a certain way, as well as why her accent isn't quite egyptian ( since her voice actor is not egyptian herself ). she was raised around a bunch of different languages and accents and so her own became a bit more watered down. if you EVER want to educate me about something, please do! i’d love to learn more about egyptian culture, as well in general become more educated!

two. same goes for religion. i’m an atheist and i always have been, and involving religion in my characters makes me very uncomfortable personally, because i’ve always had a really nuclear relationship w/ religion and i feel like if i write a character as being religious ill taint that religion. i'm waiting to see w/ canon if she is or is not muslim, but for now i am playing her as agnostic just for my own wellbeing. this may change in the future once i do more research and talk with more people for info,

personality

Fareeha is very headstrong. She’s always wanted to surpass and excel at about… well everything. ESPECIALLY if it was something that her mother was good at. She wanted to prove herself to her, because as a parent, Ana was VERY bad about expressing when she was proud of Fareeha after a certain age. To this day, Fareeha believes that her mother never was. She did retain however a HEAVY SENSE of justice and honor from Ana, and a need to protect those who are close to her..

background

Fareeha Amari was born barely two years before Overwatch was formed by the UN to Ana Amari in Asyut Egypt. Her other parent was– INDISPOSED, and it was left to Ana and Ana’s mother to raise her; and it was up to Ana to make sure her daughter would be safe. That she could grow up happy and healthy in a world filled with danger. 

Fareeha was raised on the Overwatch base for the next 15 years, moving back and forth between Gibraltar and Egypt ( where she stayed with her grandmother ). She was raised around Jack Morrison, Gabriel Reyes, Reinhardt, McCree, Angela– all of them were her friends AND her family. They filled her head with stories about glory and battle– causing little Fareeha to one day tell her mother that she too, wanted to join them and battle the good fight.

Ana was horrified. 

Right away, she had Fareeha move back to Egypt to be raised by her paternal grandmother exclusively. Fareeha cried and cried and cried at her mother not to make her go, but Ana had made up her mind. She was safer there than she was with her. The more distance between Fareeha and Overwatch, the more likely that her daughter wouldn’t join. 

So she hoped.

Ana was unable to kill Fareeha’s dream of being with Overwatch, and the apparent ‘rejection’ made the young girl even more determined. She would prove to her mother that she was worthy of Overwatch no matter what the cost; that she was worthy of the Amari name– and that she would one day, see her ‘family’ again. Instead of directing her away from Overwatch, Ana had turned her so she was aiming directly at it, honing in on it like a missile.

It was this that led Fareeha to join the army as soon as she turned 18, NOT the stories of valor from her ‘family’ at Overwatch. She spent the next 9 years striving to join Overwatch, rising in the ranks as fast as possible; until at age 27, Overwatch was disbanded AND her mother killed on a mission overseas under the command of Jack Morrison three months prior. She’d just been about to join as; all that needed to be done was for the paperwork to be signed. 

Fareeha was devastated. 

It was like everything she’d been striving her entire life had been crushed in a single swoop. She’d known about the controversy lately with Overwatch, but she never thought they’d actually disband, that it’d actually be DESTROYED. And her mother– her invincible mother– how could she be dead? It made her throw herself into her work at the military; losing herself to the rhythm of war.

3 years later at age 30 she left with commendation for distinguished service. It was AROUND this time her mother finally contacted her to inform her that she was ACTUALLY alive through a short letter– leaving Fareeha livid and so betrayed that she hadn’t contacted her sooner. It made her INCREDIBLY bitter towards Ana, even though she was secretly ecstatic that she wasn’t actually gone. 

Helix Security instantly offered her employment after her time with the military was over, and she took it as a welcome distraction from the rest of the world. She spent the next 2 years working for them; until a little call came one day, requesting her services for the new Overwatch.
